I am sitting here laughing and amused with myself.
I put in the corner of my page that it was time to dig out all the paperwork for the year and get ready for tax time.
I got it all out and got curious about how much we spent on this and that.
I have spent the last four hours going through and calculating everything.
We spent this much on groceries and this much on gas, so on and so on.
I am laughing at myself cause I am soo OCD when it comes to the paperwork of this house, I save everything from bills to receipts for dinning out. Everything is organized and within reach of my desk, the central hub of the house.
I love this disease my grandmother passed to my Dad and he then passed it to me. I am the only child in my family that caught it. Special just for me. LOL!
The only weird part is that, this particular OCD doesn't branch itself out to the rest of the house. Okay well maybe a little bit, but not like it is with the business center. The business center is perfect at all times, but the rest of the house (feels to me) is in constant chaos.
Of course this is my feelings, but hubby totally disagrees.
I do get aggravated when he does things he knows will drive me crazy...
Like throwing the silverware in the drawer instead off carefully putting each item in its designated spot.
Like trying to be a hero and putting the laundry away, if you saw how that boy folds you would cringe too! Something like holding an item with one hand and using the other to roll it around the fist and shoving it in the drawer. He proclaims "DONE" and in record time! Worse thing on top of that is the rolled up clothes aren't even in the right drawers. He is never allowed to touch my clothes!
My tendencies to being organized, hubby says is over kill, but hey I know where every dollar went for the year! Boy, there were a lot less of them this year. I was going through the tax papers and over the last five years we have had a steady decrease of 2-3 grand a year in gross income, to the tune of 11 grand. Blows my mind to think we are still surviving.
I guess the OCD comes in handy when you have to stretch every dollar.
Now if only I could put it to use more efficiently in other areas of the house!
I would be such a happy camper!!!

Wow! I'd love to have you on my side when I'm trying to get the paperwork in order. You are so smart to have it all within reach and perfectly organized when you need it. You don't want to know the racket around here when we are looking for something! How can I catch that disease of yours!
I am super-organized too. I like things neat and tidy. A place for everything and everything in it's place. I often refer to this as OCD but it's not. I'm just lazy. I see no reason to expend energy, and time, looking for stuff. Figure out where you want it, put it there - always. Voila - easy peasy no extra effort involved.
We've been using Microsoft Money the last few years for that. I was tired of the hubby spending weeks trying to figure out where all the money went.
My BIL is a lot like you. He could tell you how much he spent on deodorant during the first quarter of 2009. I wish I were 1/3 that organized. I'd settle for finding that receipt I've been searching for the last 6 weeks so I can return a pair of shoes. =)

I am completely unorganized and chaotic. I try to save things but then forget where I put them. Or shove them in too many places. I wish I could be more like you. My daughter is exactly like you. And this is a good thing. She used to bring home permission slips as a grade schooler and make me sign them immediately and back into the back pack they went. She was afraid I'd forget to sign them or lose them. She also marked her stuff on the calendar for me. LMAO.

Oh man! I wish I had that. I got nail biting OCD, nothing productive.
This is great you are already doing tax stuff! Awesome!
Menopausal...LOL! I find easy to organize paperwork, more than I do anything else.
Grace...Exactly! Always put it in it's right spot and it is never lost.
Tinkerschnitzel...I tried the Microsoft Money, It didn't work out to well, so I gave up on it.
I couldn't handle having to take weeks to figure my money out.
Mindy...That is a little too aggressive for me. I just know how much for each store.
That reciept should be in the reciept file box, listed under the store it was bought at. LOL.
Spot...I wasn't always this organized. It started as a box I threw the reciepts in.
I'm glad Lulu was on top of things. Good habit to have.
Angelia...LOL! I'm only tackling the taxes, cause I'm scared out of my mind! LOL.
Hey, there are a lot worse things to inherit than OCD!
