The Pressure I put on Myself

The pressure I have put on myself to get this house into shape for all my expected company this Thursday, is really working. We have found our niche, we work better under pressure (well at least I do and I drag his weary old body along with me).

Yesterday hubby and I got a lot done in my bedroom. Mostly moving things around and reorganizing boxes, compacting everything enough to get space for my bed.

You heard me right! My bed is finally no longer in the living room, it has made it into the bedroom! Not exactly how I was hoping it would go. I was hoping to get the new floor in and some paint on the walls before this, but hey, I'll take it for now.

Getting the bed out of the living room, opened up the chance to move some furniture into the living room where it belonged, instead of scattered through out the house. I was thrilled with all of this, I had been waiting so long for it. I spent a good while of the day, repositioning everything trying to make it look decent and functional for hubby. Not an easy task with what old crappy furniture I have to work with. I will probably still move some things today, it just isn't flowing well for me, just yet.

Moving furniture and cleaning, hubby pooped out on me after a few hours, but I got a lot out of him and then there is still today. He is going to be begging to go back to work, just to get away from me!

My dogs were quite confused last night when I said "lets go to bed", they looked at me as if to say "where is the bed?" I busted out laughing!

It was weird sleeping in the bedroom for the first time, but I'm sure we will get used to it.

Hubby and I are debating on whether to put up the Christmas tree now or to wait till after Thanksgiving. He wants it up and I'm just not sure, but I think MAYBE I'll let him have his way, this time!

He sure has been such a good sport about it all and such a big helper!!

Heather, as soon as I read "Hubby and I got a lot done in the bedroom" I didn't know whether to read on or not Lol!

I can so relate to having your furniture scattered in your home in the wrong rooms. Hubby is building a cottage and we are storing extra furniture at the house right now and we have a dirt basement so this extra stuff is in several of the rooms we use. I hate it! I'm always pressuring him every time he checks on the cottage to take some furniture up with him!

Good for you for finally get to move your bed into the bedroom. That one would have made me crazy!

Too funny! That stuff don't happen anymore! Old age has gotten the better of us! LOL

Glad to know I'm not the only one who has stuff in all the wrong places. LOL

Well, I don't have anything in the wrong place, but my furniture is so old and well-loved (which is the same as broken down) that I hate it!! I can't wait for new furniture and paint and curtains and oh...the list goes on...! I too will be cleaning like woman possessed here soon. And baking and decorating. Ridiculous, is it not?

My husband loves to rearrange furniture - his spatial abilities are far and away better than mine - if I had known I would have sent him over to help...

I think you're right...hubby will be DYING to go back to work so he can REST!

I'm sure you'll have everything super-duper in time for this week's (!) company.

And throw hubby a bone! Let him put up the tree!

(Did I just say "super-duper"?)

Spot...Ridiculous and overwhelming! It is such a shame to have to wait and wait for the new furniture. I hate it!

Grace...Go ahead and send him! I could still use some input! LOL

Kathryn...Yup he was in bed at 7:30! Sleep is another form of saying I'M DONE! Hubby started the tree..put this arm here, another one there and put together the base..done, with no lights or trimmings!

Ugggg! Moving furniture and cleaning. Yay! Well.....it's not the funnest thing to do, but I always like the result, and I can feel proud of myself.
Hubby sounds like a dream! So nice of him to help you so much. You sure you didn't leave out the part of you beating him into submission? Ha, just kidding! (I won't tell)

Nice job! I got some cleaning done. I can't believe it's time to put up the tree! :-)

Oh,man. Why can't some of your productive pressure rub off on me? All pressure does to me lately is cause erratic mean streaks and frequent trips to the pantry for CheezIts and Hot Tamales. Yay for you! =)
