Pet Names

Sick and thinking weird and useless things. It might be the fever or just that I have finally jumped ship and landed in crazyville. Who knows, hard to tell since I know I am already nuts. Not really a huge jump to total insanity. Hahaha!

So sitting here (well actually in the livingroom)and thinking about the various pet names I have used in my lifetime. Don't ask me how this topic came to be in my head, but voila there is was and I followed through with it by writing them all down. Okay well I didn't put in the ones that weren't beloved long term pets, there were at least two handfuls of those.

Some of these names are very common, but then there are a few that I think are like "what were you thinking".

G-gave away, L-lost, D-died, S-stolen

Cats:
Jeremiah-G
Nehemiah-D
Ruth-L
Boaz-L
Buttons-L
Gizmo-D
Sam-L
Camoflauge-D
Cleo-D
Mohawk-L
Squeaker-D
Whiskers
Peach

Dogs:
Tasha-G
Misty-G
Alki-D
Smokey-G
Joey-S
Elizabeth-G
Sarah-G
Nixey-G
Bubba-D
Taco Bell
Chaquita
Stitch

Why did I do this list?
Who knows?
My brain has turned to mush and I have no control over the craziness that has seeped in.
Oh yeah, I remember now...
I was sitting there wondering if any of my bloggy friends ever had pets with the same names.
So tell me or tell me to go to bed with a box of tissues.
I love you all and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hope you got some sleep!

I currently have 2 cats, plus 1 temporarily; Cameron, Mason and Tucker (son's cat). I had a cat, Java, who ran away (ungrateful kitty)

We had 3 parakeets; Lizzie, Laverne and Shirley.

We had a rabbit, but I can't remember his name.

Growing up we had a Poncho I, followed by a Poncho II. Poncho I go lost so dad brought home Poncho II. Same scenerio with Rex I and Rex II. Two Tuffy's (tabby cats) and then as an adult I had Cameron I (who died as a pup) so I got another Golden and named him Cameron II.

Yup. Lots of creativity there...
Ha!

Hope you feel better soon!

Poor Heather! You sound miserable (and slightly delirious). Take some meds and get some sleep!

I currently have eight cats and a dog because I'm a sucker for strays and rescues. They are:

Cappy (rescue)
Spot (stray)
Sparkplug (stray)
Axle (stray)
Diesel (kitten of Sparkplug and Axle)
Cujo (kitten of Sparkplug and Axle)
Lucky (rescue)
Minnie (rescue)

and the dog is Maggie, she was given to us by my husband's Grandpa 8 years ago. Black Lab.

The dog that got into my heart was named Killer by my son. She was a sweetheart.
Get and stay well.

@f8hasit I see you and Joanie have used the same name..Cameron, I have never thought to use that name.

@Lucy I have slept it off, but yet it still lingers a little.
King..that brings back memories, my grandfather had a King. He was a German Shephard and I loved him when I was a kid.

@Jimmy How cute Poochie! LOL! Dixie..Sounds like Nixie! Although my Nixie was a Rott and yours is a Dashound. Bad spelling, I know! I even misspelled Nixie up in the list.

I almost had the same pet name. My first cat was named Smokey Jo. :-) You had a Smokey and a Joey. HA.

So...did you name the new puppy?

Heather said... [Reply to comment]

@SuziCate The catnip must have drove him crazy! LOL!

@purplume A female Killer, that's a new one for me. Thankfully the name doesn't make the dog!

@Angelia Sims LOL! Yup that is pretty close, although mine were dogs! LOL!

No, naming of the puppy!!! Puppy is leaving! Thank GAWD!!!

Our first cat that I remember growing up was Smokey and then the first one I brought home from the shelter I worked at as an adult I named Smokey. I also remember the flying squirrels we had named Winkin, Blinkin and Nod. I had a black lab named Lucy (as an adult but she died) and when I was about 19 had two shetland sheepdogs named Jamaica and Tequila, LOL.

I have in recent years had/have:
KeeKee (adopted from animal shelter and currently the only cat we have ON PURPOSE)
Suki (stray found in the sewer who only makes occasional visits now)
Hellboy (who was hell on paws hence the name and Suki's son - we gave away the other two)
Milktruck - (stray who wandered in one day and later gifted us with 5 babies, we gave away 3)
Poe- one of Milktrucks babies
LaLa - another of Milktrucks babies

Buckets, aka BuckyBoy - L
Chanel - L
Kitty Purry - ran away (she was a stray)
Ike - D (hit by a car)
Chloe -D
Cleo - D

Yeah, we're crazy cat people.
