My December... Day 4

Joyous... well if you really know me than you would know I am joyous (not a word I use, ever) at how my little crochet business has kept me pretty and steadily busy for the last few months. A true blessing when one was needed.

I guess my biggest joy is that I have a hubby that doesn't drive me crazy...much (hehe). I talk to my mom every day and the things she deals with from my dad...lets just say... Oh boy, do I love the hubby! He would never do or demand like dad does. BUT then again, I would never do or demand like mom does. (love you guys) Just thought I would throw that in before I get in trouble! LOL!

Another joy I get is listening to my namesake in the evenings over the phone. I can hear her giggles, screams happiness and sleepiness. The joys of bath time, the squeals of delight over green beans, the screams that the cat took her crayons, the giggles of chasing said cat... the girl just makes my day! ♥

That is about all I can think of at the moment, the pain pills are kicking in so I best bid yall a goodnight.

Oh wait.... grandkids...It fills my heart up with joy every time I think about our beautiful and wonderful grandkids.

Okay, now it's a good night.

Me doing Electronics

So since we have practically stopped smoking (compared to what we used to smoke), we now have a bit more money available to us. We have been with out a VCR for a very long time (and have hundreds of tapes) and have been using the portable DVD player that is supposed to be in hubby's truck to watch any movies. Those long waits while waiting in line to get unloaded can very boring, so he really needs it back in his truck. I took the little extra money we had accumulated and bought us a VCR/DVD player! Yeah for us! But I let it set there in the box for nearly 2 weeks. hahaha

 Today while talking on the phone with mom I decided to get it out of the box and see if I could hook it up. I don't know why messing with things like that intimidated me so but they do...ALOT! Mom is still on the phone and I am getting a little frustrated because I did it just like the diagram said to do it and it is still not working. She says...Who are you talking to? Me? The mom who can't even figure out how to use her computer? I think you need to talk to your father AND promptly hands the phone to dad! I can hear Dad bellowing in the background.. What? Talk to her, Heather is having trouble hooking up her VCR. (Daddy's happy zone is talking electronics) I tell daddy what all I did and he tells me to move the yellow, red and white wires. Still nothing was happening, I put in a movie, made sure the tv was on the right channel and still nothing. I had my face down in front of the VCR and said...hmmm maybe this would help. Daddy says what and I busted out laughing and snorting!

AND yes it did help and I was still laughing when I told daddy what I did....he hung up on me!

Always remember to push the POWER button! LMAO!!!!!

Randomness

Yesterday was a bad day for Taco, he was getting hurt left and right all day.
He tried to jump up on the chair and missed, he landed on his side and whimpered for a good two minutes. Scared him is all.
He wanted down from the chair and I raised my crocheting to let him pass and he jumped his face right into my hand. He has a loose tooth, so I know that really hurt.
He was doing circles in front of the door (The "let me out" dance), I go to open the door and Stitch rushes over and pushes Taco into the moving door. Hurt his right front foot.
I'm sure if he could, he would file "elder doggie abuse" on me! Really an "Off" day!
Today..he acts like he is going to try to sleep through this day. No chance of getting hurt while your sleeping, unless the cat pounces on him! Poor old man!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know most of yall are still being pounded by rain or snow and most think I am pretty lucky to be in Texas and to be getting spring already. For the most part I would agree, but believe me we are already hitting some problems.
For the last few days it has been gloomy and chilly outside, like it really wanted to rain. Heck it did rain all around us, but here at my house..Nothing. AND yet the grass keeps growing!!
The temps are already starting to climb back up and the fan in the livingroom decided to die and the AC in my bedroom isn't working right. One thing I have learned here in Texas, there is NO happy medium! Okay maybe there is but it only lasts about a week! It's either hot or cold, in a drought or flooded...warm with light showers is a rarity to be treasured. I want some of that!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I forgot to post my last project in crocheting.

It's really hard to tell, but there is a large heart in the center of the bed. I made this for my bf's birthday.

I am currently working on a blanket for my dad, I'm about halfway finished with it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you will notice there is a donation button for paypal over on the side panel, it is for a camera fund. I was talked into putting it up there, by a few folks. It's not that I don't already love the cameras I do have, they are both great in thier own ways. It would just be nice if all those features where in just one camera. Soo, I have been drooling over this camera for some time and of course the price of it is soo far out of my range it's pathetic.
Yeah, it sure is purty! I have it on my Christmas list, but the hubs hardly ever pays attention to the list, if he looks at it at all. He is NOT a shopper! LOL!
Sooo, I thought I would give the button a gander, we'll see.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I guess I ought to give yall a little update on some past posts.

Mom and dad didn't kill each other, they stopped talking for a day and now they are both back to normal with some extra umph and gusto at working out some of the issues.

I appreciate all of yall's help with the address labels and placed my order last night. #3 will be "mine" and #10 will be "ours". Between friends, family and awesome bloggers those are the ones with the most votes.

There she blows....

Well good Morning.

Boy oh boy yesterday was a doozy. I played peace keeper with my parents. NOT fun!

I guess as a child it is expected to have, see or hear your parents fight. Even then it wasn't fun, you sit in your spot and watch or listen in silence, with fear running through you. Fear of the unknown of how it is going to turn out. Are they going to leave? Are they going to hug and all will be better? The worst is when they stop yelling and there is a deafening silence between them and you know that you could set them off at any moment.

Me, being the hateful step-child...would side with my daddy and secretly hope she would leave. Somewhere along the way I grew up and became friends with my mother and started viewing her as a woman, a person. A person married to a man, that I would never put up with! Don't get me wrong, I love my daddy, but as a husband...Geezzz! Sometimes I think my mom is amazing to have put up with him for 35 years.

Yesterday, started with a phone call. Mom was red hot livid and finally blew her stack, she stormed out and quaked the house with the slam of the door. What happened to make her so crazy? Well, she asked dad to spend some time with her and he turned her down. Okay well, it really isn't that simple. I talk to my mom nearly everyday woman to woman, this has been brewing for some time. Dad's response was NOT the right thing to say to a woman that has a storm building inside of her. BUT, then again, poor dad. He was oblivious to what is her problem.

What is her problem? Well to be honest everything! She is stressed beyond what any person should have to deal with. Mom gets up each morning with a grunt, she just wishes she could sleep a whole day or two without something being asked of her. She has the grandkids to watch, nearly everyday. A daughter that is in the works of getting out of her abusive situation, with the help of mom. A husband with declining health, but yet still has the ability to demand this and gripe about that. An income that is soo small (I'm talking tiny), I am baffled as to how they manage. A housing complex that appears to be going under and dad wants to move back out in the country, while mom wants to stay in housing cause it secures her future once he has passed. Plus more children needing her help.
Oh and the topper of all this is that my dad is a hoarder, not like on tv, but he is always finding things folks throw away or just give to him. He is a tinker. Computers, appliances... the problem with that is that they live in housing! You can't be having all that stuff in those apartments or outside...Thus the reason he wants to move back to the country, no rules or regulations, no inspections, no limits. We all had hoped that dad would realise his limitations and abide by them, but instead the apartment looks more like a storage facility, which drives my mom MAD. AND we can't forget mom's own declining health.

I'm surprised she doesn't just freak out on everyone and totally lose her mind. Everyone needs something of her, all the time! I always wondered about why she hides in her room whenever she get the chance, now I get it. Me, I would be hiding under the bed with a note on the door "Leave me alone!" and the phones turned off! LOL! The poor woman is exhausted, all the time!

Soo in the end I am siding with mom and totally get why she blew up. Thankfully mom has a woman's retreat coming up and she is soooo looking forward to getting away.

Now back to me...Yesterday I felt like a marriage counselor, to my parents! I hope it will be awhile before this happens again, it is really weird and strange to have my elderly parents fighting. I felt like that little kid sitting in silence hoping for a good outcome. I still don't know the outcome, so fingers crossed!

The T.V. got me going...

Last night I was listening to Inside Edition, not something I usually watch/listen to, it just happened to come on the last channel watched and nobody bothered to change the channel.

Anyway, I don't know if any of yall caught it, but the story that had me up out of my seat and standing in the livingroon gawking at the tv was...

Hollywood women choosing to have their babies out of wedlock.

Wedlock..not a word you hear very often anymore. I was stunned that this topic would even make headlines now-a-days. I mean..What is that? Are we still in the fifties? Are these hollywood women so special that they should and be expected to adhere to "traditional" lifestyles?

When I think of the old fashioned phrase "born out of wedlock", I think of these poor children that are going to suffer from not having a two income family. The struggles the mother/teenager is going to have trying to handle it all alone. The strain it can put on system and grandparents as well. I think of all the unplanned pregnancies that happen all the time with young girls who are just mere babies themselves. I think of the educations that are lost due to economics forcing them to choose, money for the baby over staying in school.

Never do I think about the rich and famous adult women who have chosen to get pregnant and never do I worry over their childs well being. It's not like these women can't afford the best for their child. These woman have soo much money they can have a dozen children and never see a strain on their finances.

As for having a two parent life for the child, I can think of maybe a handful of people that have had the experience of having both "birth" parents in their lives, all there life. Most of the folks in my life have or have had (with the exception of my younger siblings) one, three and sometimes even four parents in their lives.

Why would it be soo important to have a baby in wedlock? Spend all that money on a wedding just because of a pregnancy and most likely even bigger money on a divorce. Not very many people actually stay married anymore anyway and hollywood folks are no exception.

I appluad these women who have the money to "choose" their futures. Not so many have that type of "freedom of choice".

First Memorable Sunburn

Searching through the last few writing prompts from the Writer's Workshop, looking for something to activate my brain.

"It was a bad burn. Tell about the worst sunburn you ever received. How did that happen!?!"

Well this one could work but I'm going to change it a little. I'm going to tell you of the first sunburn I remember getting.

I was 11 years old and we were having a yard sale. We were preparing for our journey across the world. (Well that is how it felt at the time!) We was headed to the wasteland of Texas. From what I had see in the westerns on the tv, it was a land of desert with no trees and mirages of water. I was scared, worried and very much in protest, not just in words but in actions too.

I was told that I had to down size all my belonging to ONE small suitcase. We was selling everything for money for the trip. I mean everything, from clothes to toys to beds. I trudged around in a sour face at every purchase that was made of my things. It was bad enough that I was being taken from my friends, grandparents and even my cat, but to have to watch these strangers walk off with my treasured toys was unbearable. Everything that I forced into my suitcase was at least safe.

I was dressed in a girls undershirt and a skirt. For those of you who have no clue what a girls undershirt is Except mine had lace around the edging, with a little bow at the neckline. Not much different than today's regular shirts.

My dad was yelling at me to go get a shirt on and I was being all rebellious and refused. (What it really was.. I didn't want to let my parents see what I was keeping in fear that they would decided I had to get rid of it.) I guess he got tired of fighting with me, cause I wore that undershirt all day with nothing else on top of it.

The next morning when I woke up my skin was tight and when I tried to move the pain crept in. Yup I had a sunburn on my arms, shoulders, neck and face. I was scared and yet fascinated. I keep remembering me standing in front of the mirror checking it out and touching it, watching the flesh go from red to white and back to red with each touch.

Of course my mothers cure for all things was Epsom salt and Calamine Lotion. So after soaking in a bath of grainy salt, I was lathered up in pink! I was not a pink kinda girl, so you can imagine the horror!

Guess I should have listened to my dads yelling and went and put a shirt on! LOL!

Little did I know, I was moving to the kingdom of many many sunburns!

My first Cat

I was seven years old. My father had been injured and his fiance (know as SHE or HER) was helping to care for him. I was on summer break and spent most of my time next door playing with the neighbors children. Their cat had had kittens weeks ago and they were ready to go to different homes. Us kids were the only ones there playing with the kittens, their mother was in the back of the house. I was told by the older girl that if I just took it home, there was no way my dad could say no. I snuck one of them under my sweater and rushed out the front door. Their mother didn't know.

I took him home to beg and plead for us to keep him.

Things had been changing at home and I was no longer sure about the things I was sure about before. SHE was fixing to be my new mother and it was looming in the air like a storm waiting to happen and even dad wasn't the same reliable person I had known him to be. I just couldn't tell what the answer was going to be. Before SHE came, I knew my dad would say yes but now...I didn't know. He always had to talk things over with HER first and SHE was a complete mystery too me.

I crept up the stairs with this little orange fur ball tucked under my sweater. I could hear them in dad's room and I ever so gently knocked on the door. Dad gave me the okay to come in. SHE was standing there by the window, dad was sitting on the edge of the bed eating a sandwich for lunch.

I stood there like a Cheshire cat, grinning that mischievous grin. I didn't get to say anything, the cat did it for me. A big meow came from my body, dad's eyes got big and a frown crossed his forehead. My big grin melted away and disappeared, I was suddenly a nervous "you've been caught" deer in the headlights, pale faced, scared like "you've done something bad" little kid. Dad asked in a booming voice "What have you got?" I was looking at the floor cause I could feel the tears were fixing to come, I gently pulled the little kitten out from my under my sweater and handed it to my dad. Dad held him for less than a minute and while holding him, he let his other hand holding his sandwich drift too close. The little kitten took a bite out of his peanut butter sandwich! Dad softened and laughed. SHE told me to go down stairs and wait for the decision.

It felt like an eternity! I was already having problems with HER and my little head was filling up with all of the ways SHE wasn't going to let me have it. She was making my dad a mean person and I just knew it! Dad was a fun dad, but lately when he and I were having fun, it would suddenly stop when SHE came in the room. Soo, I just knew SHE was going to say no.

I don't know what was said between them or how long it actually took, but I was finally called up to dads room for the big decision.

They said YES! I couldn't believe it! BUT I had to get my friends mom's permission first.

I left my new kitten there and rushed over to my friends to tell the news and for their mother to give permission. I was scared to go up to her, even though all three of her kids were right there behind me. I had to interrupt her working in the garden, yes I was scared. (Back in those days or I should say my world, children didn't interrupt the adults without large amounts of caution. You waited for them to acknowledge your presence, only then did you talk.) She did bellow for a moment, till she saw it was me who had come to talk to her.

Of course she said yes!

Jeremiah was his name and we had that cat for five years till we moved to Texas. He was supposed to have come down later after we got established in a place, but he ran away from the folks looking after him.

He was a great comfort to me in my times of adjusting to life with a new mother. If it hadn't been for him, I would have really been a basket case!! LOL!

Went to the Dentist!

As some of you already know, I have been dealing with teeth issues since I was a teenager. Slowly but surely I have had this tooth out and that tooth out, till I was finally down to less than half of my alotted amount. From what I know there are five stages to gum disease and I am currently at stage four. The gum line just keeps going and going farther down. No where near fun and at times extremely painful.

As a child, for some reason dental hygiene was not high on the list of things to do at home or at a dentist. My parents raised us with the motto "If it don't hurt then there is no reason to go see someone about it". Even to this day I have practiced this motto, it has been ingrained into me. Although now in retrospect I wish I had had all that preventive care that I was denied and ignored myself.

I have had this tooth bugging me for the last month or so and I desperately didn't want to have to get into my vacation savings to have it pulled. I'm sure yall are wondering "why not have it fixed instead of pulled?" Well the reason is that, way back when most all my teeth had been fixed at some point in time. With the gum disease the way it is, I would just have to keep doing it over and over and over again till they eventually fall out of my head. It's just easier on the pocketbook and less painful to get it over with and yanked out, than to mess with something that I know is just a temporary fix.

So the tooth was messing with me soo bad yesterday I finally broke down and called the dentists office. She (receptionist) told me to come on in right now. Crap I wasn't prepared for that!! Nerves, nerves, where for art thou nerves! It's not really the dentist I am scared off, it's the needle. My heart rate and pulse skyrocket and my whole body tenses up at the moment of the needle. I end up walking out of there shaking, bleeding and feeling like I had just went for an extreme workout.

Two teeth and $266 gone and my face feels like I was in a boxing match!
Just 13 left to go and I will have to start working on a savings budget for some new pearly whites! Yippie, wont I look purrty!

Naturally the dentist wants me to come back as soon as I get the money for another extraction, that should be in three months. UGH!

OH and apparently I am an oddity. Really Dr? Gee, I didn't know that! LOL! I had numbers 6 and 27 pulled. Number 6 broke, no oddity there. BUT number 27 was giving the doc a heck of a time, come to find out that particuar tooth is supposed to have only one root, mine had two!

I have always been told and have always know that I am weird, but now I have proof!! LOL!

Trip to see Little Heather

Monday Mom, Dad, brother I and SIL D, and I all went to Austin to see my namesake.
Brother I offered up his car for the journey. I am very grateful, but I have to say..MAN it was hot!! The car had no A/C and the temps were over 100. The windows were all down and the sun roof open. The wind of 70mph was whipping my hair all over the place and my face was numb on one side. Can I just say, three old folks in a car with no A/C makes for a very cranky ride.

Mom bless her heart had been behind the wheel since 8am and melting the whole way. She melts without being in the direct sun, you can just imagine the pile of sweat she was by time she came to get me at noon. She continued to drive all day and didn't get back home till after 10pm. For an old lady, she surprised me. Just kidding mom! (she hates to be refered to as an old lady) LOL!

Dad, oh boy what to say about dad...LOL! That man was surely in a mood. At first it was light hearted and joking around. He really loves to tease me on just about EVERYTHING! Well the hotter it got the worse he started to feel and the crankier he got. Snippy actually! Then when we got to the hospital, dad was already sucking oxygen and with the stuff he was cutting I was going to be needing some fresh oxygen also! Shoo-wee! Just steps away from the car in the parking garage, I was having to stand behind him and push the man forward. Dangerous! Halfway to the front entrance of the hospital, I had to leave him and hunt down a wheelchair.

We visited and she was soo sweet and never made a fuss even though we were all loud and cutting up. Matter of a fact she slept through the whole visit, till right at the end when she was unbundled for a change. Then we finally got to see her eyes. I know yall are like.. where are the pics? Well I don't have permission to post them. Bummer, I know!

Then there was the lovely ride home to look forward to. Yikes!

But first, remember dear old dad...well I was the designated pusher of wheelchair man, all 260 lbs of him. Some where along the way of pushing, I wrenched my knee. I can only think of two times that it could have happened. Once when I was backing him out of the elevator or when I had to give it all I got to get him up a hill! Either one could have been it, cause those are the only times I remember feeling something funny.

The ride back was worse than the ride up. We got stuck in traffic and the breeze was dead. The exhaust from all the other cars was nearly unbearable. The floor board was soo hot that I could feel it even through my sneakers. Eventually I laid down across the back seat to get the sun off my face. Eventually some where along the way, I fell asleep. I woke up when we got to brother's house to drop off dad.

Mom drove me home and it was 9pm, hubby was sound asleep with the phone next to him. The next evening he said he was expecting a call from me saying.. we had broke down and please come help. I was soo tired from all the heat, I was in bed by 11pm after talking to mom on the phone to keep her awake for her finally leg.

I slept ......

9 hours!!!!

Not continously but with very short times inbetween, like maybe 20 minutes at the most. When I finally did wake up for the last time, is when I noticed my feet were tender, my lower back was hurting and my knee was killing me!

BUT, it was soo worth it to see little Heather, sweet angel!

A Box of Memories from Dad

My father gave me a box of stuff that he thought I might want.

Some books, some trinkets of things we had done together, the cards I gave him for his birthday or father’s day, playing cards that I had sent him from various states…You get the idea right!

Well in this box I found some items that blew me away, that he had saved.

Here is a lovely card that my grammie (birth mother's side) sent me in 1984.

She wrote:

Dear Ones - I wanted you to know I was thinking of you this morning as I went about my chores, so I decided to drop a line, and send along the envelope (She sent a self address envelope with a stamp) hoping I might hear how things are going. Also I have heard from ____, she wrote back that she had tried to call you, but no phone. So I guess all I can do is send along her address for correspondence. (A little piece of paper with the address, right here in Texas)

We are all okay - I keep busy with my volunteer work to help feed and clothe needy children. Nana (Her mother) is getting stronger each day since her fall and the hip should be mended so she can go back home (to Maine) the last of April. Grampie is finishing the inside of our new house, just across the highway by the lake here (Florida). None of the eight rents (rental houses) have sold yet, so he is busy as ever. Well, I'll go sew a few more quilt squares = do hope I might hear good news from you.
Our Love, Grammie.

I never received this letter. I'm guessing my parents didn't want me to want to see my birth mother or to know that see was so close to us. I know they were just trying to protect me from her evil ways.

This next one is a postcard, also from grammie in 1976.

She wrote:

Hi (to my daddy),

Was so pleased to hear from you, and happy about your coming marriage, very happy. Saw (new mom's) picture in the paper - she is nice looking. Your folks called on us - left note as we was away darn it. We'd love to have Heather visit us, okay? You and your new wife too if you can, any time.

Hope to see you friday eve, around 6 o'clock - if Heather can come for a week or so. If not please drop us a card.

Our Love, Grammie.

I just thought that was soo cool of her to be so accepting of my dad getting a new wife, especially considering they were my birth mother's parents.

This was a gift I bought for my dad in 1978.

I was lucky enough to have gotten to go to a camp for the summer. I still don't know how my parents managed to come up with the money, but I was thrilled to go.

I remember it was the first time I got to ride an elephant. I have been fascinated with them ever since.

Some how I managed to have some pocket money. Right before it was time to leave, I went to the gift shop and bought this captains wheel (as you can see the spokes have all broken off). I knew daddy would love it! I guess he really did, cause he kept it all these years!

It was so nice that dad gave these things to me. Although it does reveal his hoarding side! LOL! Sometimes a little hoarding can be a good thing or I wouldn't have these little gems.

A Day in Seguin with the Parents

Yesterday, I volunteered to go and help my parents clean house. Why they can't do it themselves? Well, they are OLD! They live in an apartment complex that has annual inspections. Checking the appliances, walls, floors, carpets and ect...

Well with dad being old and clumsy and all the grand kids being there quite often, things get spilled. Dad's wheelchair leaks grease or oil and of course the weather causes dirty carpets too.

We went through things, fixed things and threw away a lot. Then we went about doing the carpets, by hand! There I was down on my hands and knees scrubbing the carpet. OMGoodness, my knees!! Thankfully my sisters helped out as much as they could.

At one point or another I had to help get Mom or Dad off the floor. Dad grunted and groaned. Mom was stuck good and it sounded like all her bones creaked and cracked in trying to get up.

We were all an awful sight!

In going to help out I got to finally get to see the latest addition to our family.

Nathan.

His brother, Randall.

His twin sisters, Maryanne and Madeline.

I am soo tired and managed to hurt myself many times! I think I might have to lay off on my yard work, at least till my knees and my ankle heal!

Phoneless Weekend

Saturday..
The phone rings a funky ring, kinda like a half ring. Hubby and I look at each other, WTF was that? I connect to the Internet and check my email. Just checking to see what comments I got that morning. I run off to get groceries. When I get home, I try to connect to the Internet again and it keeps telling me "No Dial Tone".

Now I had this happen before and all it took was some phone tag. Pick up one phone and make sure it is in the off position and replace to cradle, move on to the next phone and repeat the process, pick up the previous phone and Voila it works.

So I proceed to do this routine and nothing. I unplug and replug and still nothing. I call the phone company (the automated man) and get info on things to do.

Take an old fashioned phone with plug (yes, I still have one) and check the jacks. Okay did that and still nothing. Now go to the pole outside and plug it in there. Hmmm, it works at the pole, but not in the house.

I call my parents from my cell. Dad says he called but all he got was a busy signal. While talking to dad, mom's in the background yelling that she's been trying to call all day! In response to moms yelling, I said "You have my cell number!"

I threw that convo in cause it made me think about why hubby and I didn't think about calling the house phone from my cell.

Hubby went the entire length of the line and found a kink. Hubby straightens the kink and the phone works. I am happy to get back on the Internet again!

Sunday..
I wake to hubby all dressed and ready for his birthday lunch with his momma, but he's messing with the phone. Going outside and inside and grumbling to himself. Once again we have no phone. I try to tell him it's not a big deal today cause we have a busy day ahead of us. He informs me IT IS a big deal, he could be missing some birthday wishes!

I let him continue on his quest of fixing the universe, as I get myself ready to go.
He has determined that we need new line from the pole to the jack in the house. I'm like..did you measure it? No. Basically this just means, he's going to guess the footage and add a extra 50 feet. LOL!

We stop at Home Depot on our way to his mommas. He leads me to the electrical part and goes down one isle and determines that they don't have it.

Patience man! God forbid if he was to ask a worker for help! I am not that macho, I ask and am lead right to it.

We grabbed a few extra items so he can have his motorcycle phone sitting next to him in the living room. It really sticks out in the decor but I do put up with it. He doesn't ask for much. Although this little kind gesture (on my part) lead to where is my this or my that. Now I'm the one grumbling to myself!

As we are on our way home, his bff (Big Fat Friend (not my words, theirs)) calls his cell to wish him a Happy Birthday. They talk about the phone situation at home. Bff says the phone is working fine, it rang and the answer machine came on. I tried it with my cell and yes, it's working.

All the way home, we are trying to figure out what the deal is. We got nothing.

Spooky ass phone has a mind of its own!

You Lift My Spirits

This week has been a rough one.

My father went to his usual Dr's appointment Monday and they admitted him. He has Emphysema real bad. While waiting for my mother to call me back, one of my bfs calls. Her hubby has been in the hospital for two months now (heart troubles and strokes) and it doesn't look good. She went to the hospital herself three weeks ago and they found something. After further tests, it has been confirmed as lung cancer. My other bf is watching her beloved dog of 15+years very closely, he's not doing good either. Mother finally gets to call me back and she's not doing so great, her asthma has been kicking her butt. Plus she has to try to help my sis with the new baby and deal with her husband in the hospital in a different county with no wheels to get to see him.

I feel like walking away from this week or at least the phone.
Yeah, I've been in a funk.

BUT, there is a bright side...
Everyday (sometimes twice a day), I open my email to see my comments.

Yall just have this way about getting me to laugh, in spite of my worries or funk.

This week alone I have been tagged, received an award and won a key chain!

Some of those comments yesterday had me roaring a good belly laugh. The idea that there is no sex..OMG how can that be? The world has stopped turning!!! LMAO!!!

I have also meet some new bloggers that I have decided to follow. I know I shouldn't be adding more to my list, cause I can barely keep up with all of yall but I couldn't help myself.

Here are some of my new peeps:

The tagging, I'm still working on that. It is really long.

The award..just so wonderful and beautiful..The Sunshine Award given to me by My Walking Path.

The rules are to give this to 12 peeps, let them know about it in their comments and link the giver.

I am such a break the rules kinda girl. I say it goes to all of you, cause yall are my sunshine on these cloudy days. Take it, enjoy it and pass it on if ya want.

You all make my day, every day!
