Laughing through the sickness...

Wow, what a week! I am so glad that is over with and I survived, although there was a few times when I wondered if I would.
It all started with (I'm guessing since I never go anywhere) the Fiber Fest I went to last Saturday. Monday evening I noticed a little tickle in my throat, no matter how many times I tried to clear my throat the worse it got. Hubby got up and I told him I think I caught something. He responded with the usual...I better NOT come down sick, cause if I do...I'm going to have to murderize ya. Haha!
By Tuesday my throat was on fire and I was definitely full blown sick. I hardly remember Tuesday or Wednesday, I slept through both days. Thursday was a more alert day but not by much. Hubby called me (as he usually does when he is on his way home) and asks...What is you choice of weapon?
What?
How do you want to die? (scratchy throat voice)
LMAO!!! Your sick?
Knife, gun, bat...?
Stop it! Your killing me! (I was laughing so hard and coughing at the same time.) You forgot to mention laughter!
Later that evening I glance over his way and he is glaring at me.
What?
I love you.
Oookaay. (spooked)
You know the only reason your still sitting there is cause I love ya.
LMAO!!! Good to know! Dodged a bullet on that one.
He lights up and moves like he is going to get up...Bullet you say...that's your weapon?!!!
ROTFLMAO!!!
All in good fun folks, no evilness in this funning.
Friday was 50% better than Thursday and I even managed to get some chores done. I posted the kittens on craigslist and even managed to get all three of them rehomed. On my way home from the grocery store I noticed this car behind me looked alot like our car. I glanced at the clock and it was only 1 pm, I shook my head and told myself it wasn't him but it turned everytime I did. Finally on the last turn I just knew it was him, the poor sick boy was sent home from work.
Spent the last two days watching him sleep and when he is awake.. boy oh boy is he a baby! I sit here wondering if I was that miserable or is it the "men are babies when sick" syndrome. Poor guy, I really shouldn't pick on him but he's so cute and helpless when he's sick.
The only good thing about him being sick is I got two whole days of being the Remote Queen! I'm gonna miss that. LOL!

I hope to do better...

I guess you could say I got quite bored with blogging. I mean let's face it, I don't live a very exciting life. Most days I dream up stuff to do to fill my day, watch a movie, play games, go for walks, take pictures, talk on the phone, light housework and of course crocheting. To tell you the truth, I'm pretty boring. My day doesn't brighten till the hubs gets home and that's only an hour or two before he hits the hay.

Here lately I have been filling my time with crocheting, and have gotten alot of it done. Well that time is about over since the high today will be 87, impossible to work with yarn and blankets in that weather.

Soo, what's left? Do I return to the blogging world and try to win all my friends back or do I find something else to comsume my time? For now, I have opted to try to win back the bloggy love. Yall have all been so kind and patient with me, I really don't deserve such loyalty, considering I can't even remember the last time I read some one elses blog. I am determined to read at least ten blogs a day, so if I don't get around to you but once a week, please bear with me. Ten blogs is about 2-3 hours of my day, so it's a start.

Tuesday I started my spring cleaning and totally kicked A** in the livingroom, it was spic and span by time I got done. Although it did take all day to do it. Yesterday, I started tearing apart my closet, getting it all reorganized and in top shape but halfway through the process I started not feeling well. Temp of 101.2 and feeling run over. I spent the rest of the day in and outta bed till this afternoon. My fever broke and all I am left with is a sore and constant tickle in my throat. Thank goodness it wasn't one of those long drawn out death scenes, where you not completely convinced your going to make it through.

I guess I'd better close this up, so I can get to reading them blog posts. See ya around.

I Slept through the New Year!

Wow my first post of the year, you would think it should be grand or something but really not a whole lot has been going on around here lately.

Hubby came home super sick last Monday and by Thursday I was into the flu full blast, thankfully he was on the mend. New Years Eve came and went in a drugged out blurr of load noises and shaking dogs, as I was snuggled down in the covers and asleep by 10pm. Even though I was awake every few hours as the drowsiness of the nyquil wore off, I still missed everything. By mid New Years day my fever finally broke, that truly was a relief. There is just something about a fever that just zaps all energy from your body and just trying to lift your arms is exhausting.

Well the cloud has lifted and I can sorta think now. Although thinking might not be such a great thing, cause there is a mountain of paperwork waiting for me on my desk. Yes I pushed it aside just for you, temporarily. Tax season is such a drag! Then there is the cleaning out of my desk and preparing it for the new year, categorizing, collating, filing away. Yes, I'm a freak.

I've been super busy trying to get blanket #3 done (except for the days of being sick), looks like I might get it finished in the next two weeks. Yippie! I think I will be taking a break from crocheting for awhile, other things need my attention.

Surely yall have noticed I haven't been posting any pics on my other blog, well that's cause I haven't been anywhere. Seriously, the last time I was away from the house was Christmas day. I seriously don't have anymore new photos to show. Sad, I know. I think this Sunday I'm going to hijack hubby's new ride and go somewhere... anywhere! I am truly sick of being confined. I can't count how many times I thought of just going for a walk, but I am allergic to the cold weather. LOL! THAT IS WHY I LIVE IN TEXAS!!!! Or so I thought. LOL!

That is all for now, time to stop staring out the window and get some house work done. Yall have a good day!

A little trip to the Hill Country

Soo...I made it through the little bug that crept into my blood stream for two days. Thursday I started off with a scratchy throat and coughing. By that evening I was starting to lose my voice and a fever snuck in and turned my brain to mush.

You were then all subjected to my goofy delirious post, for that there will never be enough sorries to cover it. I should know better than to get on the computer when my head feels like it is floating in the heavens, but when the delirium sets in all control is lost. The computer should have a breathe alizer or finger prick to block delirious posts! LOL! Warning: Virus detected! User blocked!

Just to let you know I am feeling much better now, still have the scratchy throat but thank goodness the head cleared up when the fever went away.

Anywhoo..
Yesterday afternoon I laid down to take a nap and hubby came home early, woke me up and asked if I wanted to go.
Huh, what? Go where and why? (while grabbing for some coffee)
Go with me to get some wood.
Ohhh, you want me to get out in the hot sunshine and work my butt off. Okay I'm game! Just let me get some coffee.

Off we go, to where I don't know.
We headed up to the lower portion of the hill country. Went past some of the most gorgeous houses I have ever seen. Totally not in the right kind of neighborhood for me to feel comfortable. I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb in these types of neighborhoods with their fancy houses and manicured lawns. Thankfully we went past that and moved on up into the wooded area still under development.

The job site hubby has been delivering to, has trees stacked up along side the gravel road still under construction. The contractor of the job gave hubby permission to cut and haul away all the wood he can get. Since getting free wood wasn't something hubby could pass up, there we were working our butts off in the hot Texas sun.

We took a break and I went exploring and found this hole in the ground. It was awesome! If you look closely enough you will see a fuzz all around the rim. That is a jillion billion Daddy Long Legs! I have never seen so many in all my life!

There were rocks like this one all over the place. I begged and pleaded to take a few home with us, but alas hubby wouldn't budge. Besides the ones I really wanted, you would need a crane for! LOL! I was in rock heaven and couldn't take a single one. Heartbreaking!!

There was also cactus everywhere too!

Seriously folks, I could live in that area very happily! It was just so beautiful!
If it hadn't had been for my persistent cough, I think we could have stayed out there all day. Unfortunately it was only two hours, but it was the best two hours I have had all week!

Pet Names

Sick and thinking weird and useless things. It might be the fever or just that I have finally jumped ship and landed in crazyville. Who knows, hard to tell since I know I am already nuts. Not really a huge jump to total insanity. Hahaha!

So sitting here (well actually in the livingroom)and thinking about the various pet names I have used in my lifetime. Don't ask me how this topic came to be in my head, but voila there is was and I followed through with it by writing them all down. Okay well I didn't put in the ones that weren't beloved long term pets, there were at least two handfuls of those.

Some of these names are very common, but then there are a few that I think are like "what were you thinking".

G-gave away, L-lost, D-died, S-stolen

Cats:
Jeremiah-G
Nehemiah-D
Ruth-L
Boaz-L
Buttons-L
Gizmo-D
Sam-L
Camoflauge-D
Cleo-D
Mohawk-L
Squeaker-D
Whiskers
Peach

Dogs:
Tasha-G
Misty-G
Alki-D
Smokey-G
Joey-S
Elizabeth-G
Sarah-G
Nixey-G
Bubba-D
Taco Bell
Chaquita
Stitch

Why did I do this list?
Who knows?
My brain has turned to mush and I have no control over the craziness that has seeped in.
Oh yeah, I remember now...
I was sitting there wondering if any of my bloggy friends ever had pets with the same names.
So tell me or tell me to go to bed with a box of tissues.
I love you all and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

What I did for Ten Days

Random things that happened in the last ten days.

Monday..As you all know, I rushed my computer to the computer doctor after my screen went blue and Microsoft shut me down and dumped my physical memory. I did try rebooting, but the Internet wouldn't open any pages. The doctor said it was going to be 3 days, I felt lost leaving it there. My first thought was "What am I going to do with myself for 3 days!" I went home like a wounded puppy with my tail tucked.

Tuesday..With nothing to do, I called my bf and made plans with her. By noon we was going over crochet stitches and went shopping for yarn. I really shouldn't have spent the gas money but it was so worth getting to spend time with her. I started a crochet project as soon as I got home.

Wednesday..I called everyone in my speed dial to whine about my boredom. I'm sure everyone got plenty sick of me complaining. I eventually got off my butt and went outside. I first played with the dogs and before I knew it I was laying 12 inch cement blocks for a walkway. Hubby came home and before he got to the door, he said..
"Your computer should break down more often."
I shut the storm door and held it shut till he took it back!

Thursday..The computer doctor called and said my baby was ready. I rushed out the door on half a cup of coffee. I was so excited! I had to run to the bank first for several reasons and figured while I was there I would try to see if we could get a loan to help pay off a credit card.

I got home hooked it up and ten minutes into checking my emails, it started doing the exact same thing it was doing on Monday. I called them back and this boy told me somethings to do, this only made it worse. I couldn't even get it to open to my desktop.

Needless to say I was sad and pissed. I took it in to get fixed and all I could tell was that the only thing they did was add updates and give me a better virus protection. They didn't even try to FIX it.

Hubby came home right after me getting it back, so to keep him from blowing his stack, I didn't tell him. He came home early cause he was super sick, I didn't think he needed the extra stress.

A little later in the day I called to see about the loan and we was approved. What a relief and blessing. We can pay off that card and will still be saving ourselves 40 bucks a month and hundreds of interest in the long run!

Friday..First thing in the morning, I took my computer back. Now there wasn't any set time to pick it up, more of a wait and see kinda thing. Aggravating! I did tell hubby the situation before leaving. He was too sick to know what I was saying, lucky me. Stopped and got groceries and back to care for the sick fella laying on his "Death bed" (as he called it, when he crawled on it).

Saturday..I went to the hardware store (for wood) and the auto store (for spark plugs) and just for the heck of it went to the thrift store (just to browse around).
I came home and used hubbies skill saw and cut and laid the new steps. ALL BY MYSELF!

Sunday..Hubby feeling a little better. We fixed by bike together. New tires and a wash down and then attached a basket to the handle bars. Its fixed and ready to go, but I have yet to use it. Lazy. We sat around the rest of the day and watched the race.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday..I sat around crocheting and calling the computer doctor twice a day. I did manage to get in a lot of extra heavy duty house cleaning and extra chatting with the family everyday.

Now that brings up to date with Thursday..Computer doctor calls and says my baby is ready. They didn't charge me anything extra!
So far so good and very happy, happy, happy!!

Spin Cycle - I can't Live without..

I guess it is my turn to be sick. I have read all about everyone else being sick or having sick kids in the house. I was thinking that maybe I would escape it this year, NOPE its here.

My regular body temp is .9 of a degree lower the the quote normal temp. So my 99.1 temp is like 100 for the average person. Why does a fever make you feel like a semi is pushing you down to the floor. It feels like gravity has gotten heavier, it is all I can do to get my fingers to move.

My brain has turned to mush which is making its way out my nose.
Whoops, excuse me!
Had to take my moon boots over to get more tissues.
Where was I?
I have no idea.
Typing with one hand is really difficult, I'm going to have to confirm all of this with spell check.

hey, is I'm supposed to be spelt with lower case or upper? After spell check, it says upper.
Whatever. Really who cares..I don't, you don't. Sorry got distracted yelling at my self.

What am I doing..

Oh Yeah...Something I can't live with out.

Hubby say Toilet Paper and yes he is right. I say right now.. Tissues.

Either way..it is the lovely (sometimes white) soft paper, that we all use to wipe. Wipe meaning..you know..That or noses and even my eyes during a great movie.

I have also been known to use tissue for packing breakables, makeup removal, bra filling (when I was 10), pet messes, female emergencies and even blister padding. I'm sure I have used it for more, but hey I can't think straight!

Seriously, How did people live without this stuff? I am glad to be living in the age of Toilet paper and tissues. A little sorry for the trees, but when your nose is trying to turn into a faucet..GIVE ME a box full of mushed and dried up tree!

Okay I don't like this post, but it is all I can muster. Sorry!
