Never heard of her? Yeah, me neither!
I was over at Technical Parent's blog and was trying to write my favorite authors.
For the life of me I couldn't remember how to spell Barbara. I decided to go to ebay and type in Michaels. The list was long, so I figured I would give it my best shot and type in Barbra. Of course that was wrong!
(Sometimes this spelling issue of mine, really ticks me off. It's bad enough when I have to force my self to do "ae" in the Michaels, instead of "ea")
I eventually got it right and went to Wikipedia for the list of all her books. (Well since I had the ebay open, why not?) I was amazed to see that that wasn't her real name and she also has several other lines of books under Elizabeth Peters.
Under the name Barbara Michaels, she writes primarily gothic and supernatural thrillers. I got suck into her writings when I first read "Greygallows" or was it "The Master of Blacktower", they were both excellent reads and I couldn't wait to find more of her books.
At one time I had nearly all of Barbara Michaels books. I didn't have the space for them in the house, so I had them in a box in the shed. The roof leaked right on THAT box. They were so badly damaged by time I noticed, I had to throw them away.
Now I am itching to get my hands on some more!
Ebay don't go away, I'll be right back to scroll through your pages. Only bummer is, I only have $15 to spend, but that will get me a couple books? Right?
If you have never read any of Barbara Micheals books and you like her genre, do yourself a favor and find at least one to read.
Both wikipedia and ebay are links to find her books.

Supernatural thrillers sound sexy:)
I have never heard of the author but will certainly check her books out at the bookstore.
It sounds like she writes kind of gothic, dark but good reads. I was an avid reader till I got this computer. I liked mysteries. Nice seeing you this morning, as well.
I have never read her but will check her out!
I always spell "michael" wrong too
Definitely have read her! But my reading has been way, way down - like one book last year. I can't wait til I get back into reading again. I have a ton of books to start. She is great!
My wife figured out a nifty plan to feed our reading habit. She goes online and reserves books at our local County Library. We choose what we want to read, and the library finds them through the Inter-Library Something-of-other. When they arrive, they notify us and we scoot down to pick them up.
Cool, huh?
I'll check her out.

Yep...still there. It's run by E-bay and I've bought tons of book there (just not in the last few years). Definitely worth a look.
I never would've guessed you have trouble with your spelling, sweetie...your posts are always perfect!
I will check out this author you make her books sound interesting. I have a hard time with spelling, I know when I spell something wrong, and getting it right stumps me:-)
Gerardine
Ocean Girl...At times some of her books has a sexy/scary vibe to them.
Lucy...Same thing here, since two years of having a computer, I have only read one book.
Suzicate...I hope you find one that you will like.
Grace...I'm glad I'm not the only one! LOL!
Angelia...You too! I'm beginning to think maybe we all need to get back to some of our old pass times that we enjoyed.
Jerry...I love that idea, I'm going to check that out. Thanks!
Dorothy...Thanks and happy reading!
Kathryn...Thanks!! I have added it to my favs list. My post, reading and commenting do take me some effort and lots of time, which is probably why I am so far behind.
Gerardine...If you like her genre, you will love her books.
I hope your spelling issue isn't as bad as mine. Mine takes up so much of my time.
My previous boss was called Barbara and for the first few months I wrote her name as brabra... she wasn't impressed ;)
I have a neighbor named Barbara and she is a real witch. Can not get along with anyone. Just had to throw that in. When she lived on 15th street she said all the neighbors were so so unfriendly and since her mother died and they moved on my street I can understand why. She is filthy.
